I will admit, I only really wanted to try Jamie's because it was on Triple D... don't judge. I went there for dinner last night with some friends and we were looking for something fast because we were hungry. When we first drove up to the restaurant, I didn't realize we were already there. The door was almost hidden and it really looked run down, but don't let the exterior fool you! Our waitress was super friendly and the food came out really fast! I had the garlic steak sandwich with a side of potato salad. The sandwich is a thin(ish) piece of steak on a nice crusty garlic roll. It was really delicious. The steak was nice and tender and well seasoned. The garlic on the roll added to the flavor. Nice and buttery... mmmm now my mouth is watering again. I only got the half order which is one sandwich, but if I go back, I would get the full (two sandwiches) and save one for lunch the next day. The potato salad was REALLY good. I love a good potato salad, but most of the time restaurants under season it and it's bland and mayo-y. This one was creamy and delicious! I definitely recommend. I definitely left feeling full and satisfied.
I'm a horrible food blogger because when I get my meal I'm so excited to eat that I forget to take pictures! But I will post the link (and try harder at the next restaurant!).

INSIGHT Coffee
INSIGHT Coffee 1901 8th Street
This coffee shop is amazing in ambiance and space if you are looking to study. In the front of their shop are old theater chairs made out of wood that look out the window. Very fun spot to sit with a friend and people watch. Their coffee is not the best compared to other spots in Sac. Perhaps I am becoming a coffee snob...They do sale Dough-Bot donuts and that is always a plus in any coffee shop!

Fox and Goose Pub
If your goal in life is to try every eggs benedict in all the breakfast places you can find in town, then you just earned a special place in my heart. One of my favorite breakfast places is Fox & Goose located on R and 10th Streets in downtown. Their eggs benedict called Benedict Arnold, consists of two poached eggs with Canadian bacon, regular yummy bacon, house roasted corned beef, spinach, tempeh, or tomatoes on an english muffin. It's topped with Welsh rarebit cheese sauce (instead of the traditional hollandaise sauce) and served with a side of potatoes or fresh fruit. Do yourself a favor and try the house roasted corned beef and please get the potatoes. Forget the fresh fruit. You can eat fresh fruit for dinner. Also, order the olallieberry scone with the Devonshire cream on the side. If you don't order the Devonshire cream, then don't order the scone! No... don't even go to Fox and Goose!!! This scone and cream combo is a must!!!
By the way, breakfast is served until 2 pm everyday.

Brunch: Tower Cafe
Sundays are the BEST! I not only get to see my church family, but I get to enjoy me some BRUNCH! At church today one of my friends asked me for brunch ideas. I gave her a list of my different faves around Sacramento and Elk Grove. This made me think of what I was going to do for brunch this beautiful Sunday morning. After some deliberation the BF and I decided on Tower Cafe.
We got to Tower Cafe around 2 pm and there was a line of people outside the door. We couldn't find parking in their lot after the first couple rounds but finally found one. Once I got to the hostess I was greeted by a very friendly young lady. She told me our wait would be about 30-40 minutes. I have to add that at Tower Cafe you can choose to dine inside or outside. I told them we would take the first available spot.
Since we had quite a wait, we went across the street to peruse around Dimple records for some used CDs. I scored a Jurassic 5 CD and Boys II Men CD for $2.99 each. Not bad! We decided to go back and once we did, our little gadget started to vibrate. YES! Finally :)
We ordered the New Mexico Blueberry Cornmeal Pancakes, the Madame Cristo and 2 coffees. Ok let us start with the coffee....so good! This coffee is not your typical diner coffee AND we get our own little container of real cream. Then our food finally arrived and let me tell you, it was so worth the wait.
My Madame Cristo is the perfect combination of sweet and savory. I have never seen this dish anywhere. It is absolutely genius. I mean whoever invented it should have a statue or something cause it is THAT good. My BF's cornmeal pancakes were the best cornmeal pancakes we've ever had.
Overall, we had a wonderful Sunday brunch at Tower Cafe. Good service, ambiance and delicious food! One a side note, if you are coming on a weekend, do not come starving, because there will be a wait. Details on what we ate, picture of my food and a link to the Tower Cafe website is below. Enjoy!

Hello!
Ok, first post! I plan to start food blogging tomorrow. Perhaps soon we can catch up on some of the restaurants we have already tried, and then we can add in anything new that we try as well! So excited to start :)
